1998 Sable Wagon vibration

Howdy folks. It's been a while since I've been on here. I just picked up a 1998 Sable wagon with the 3.0 V6. The car is in great condition other than a few minor things to deal with (like the hatch lock being stuck). They guy I bought it from just put in a motor with only 70K miles on it. The car runs great and has plenty of power, no leaks, etc. I did notice though that when I get up to higher speeds, 50 mph or so, that there is a very distinct vibration in the car. The steering wheel does not shake or shimmy, and the car, other than the vibration, runs pretty smooth. I don't think it's a tranny issue because this thing doesn't hesitate and takes off when you hit the gas. I was wondering if it is possibly in the suspension system or possibly a tire out of balance. I did notice that the car will ride smooth for a couple of minutes but then if you're going over slight dips in the road, the vibration is more profound. The guy also said he just replaced the ball joints and had an alignment done. Any thoughts on this? As always, a HUGE thanks to everyone for all the help you've given me in the past (and present)

Regan

Thanks. I kinda figured it was either suspension or a tire issue. I have since sold the car. Really didn't feel like dealing with it. Thanks again though.

Yeah I had the same problem, My tires were out of balance. My dad has a sable too and he also has a problem with the tires going out of balance frequently.
