2002 Impala LS- stalls when driving and traction activates all the time

Hey folks... I am having some issues with my 2002 Impala LS. I'm not too savvy with autos and haven't been on these boards before but googled and found this source for information. My car has 61,600 miles and has received scheduled oil changes every 3-4,000 miles. I've changed the brakes, tires and battery since owning it and have never had a tune-up (not sure if cars still get tune-ups). It stalls about every 4 times that I drive it and it usually happens when I'm slowing down or in cruise control. I've heard knocking sounds in my gas tank but put some Slick 50 and that didn't help. Has anyone else experienced this problem and any suggestions before I take it to the shops??

I've also had my traction active light come on when I make turns and that's annoying too... Any suggestions?

Welcome to AF, the traction lite usually is an issue with a ft wheel speed sensor going bad, a scan with an abs function scanner should pinpoint this. The stalling can be many things, at this mileage the fuel filter should be replaced, the throttle body cleaned and maybe an injector service, these are routine maintenace items, but you are due.
