Ticking Noise

I'm getting a ticking noise coming from the radio area. It's the same noise as when you use your blinker but is randomly doing it. I'm thinking something's shorting out. It happens whether the radio's on or off. Any suggestions?

Or you could tell everyone that it was caused by a bad 4-way flasher switch(or multifunction switch if one piece) so that they find an answer quicker when their car is doing it!

Re: Ticking Noise

Yeah, you're right. I bought a turn signal/windshield wiper switch from Napa for $120. That's the cheapest I could find it unless you buy one and trust the people on Ebay. I felt as though if I was going to pull the steering column apart and remove and clean the old switch, I might as well just put a new one in and be done with it. I'm about to go replace the switch right now and the funny thing is that as soon as I bought the new one, the car quit malfunctioning. Since it happens randomly, i'm replacing it anyway. This forum is a great tool for diagnosing problems. Thanks everybody for all your help.
