Hood from a sohc fit a dohc?
I have a 98 dohc neon with a huge crease across the hood from the previous owner. The local wrecking yard only has a couple dohc hoods, and they are in bad shape, but many sohc hoods. If I were to remove the intake plastic that goes over the engine, would I be able to get away with the sohc hood? It would be great if I could, because the rest of the car is mint, with a really farked hood. Little too gheto for me.

It will fit, but you will need to cut out some of the bracing to get it to fit correctly.
The bulge is there to clear the cam cover on the DOHC.

Re: Hood from a sohc fit a dohc?
im sure he didnt walk around looking at the motor to dictate if it was the right hood.
im sure he just looked at every hood and seen which were dohc and which were sohc. as das said cut the bracing over the timing cover area |
