Insurance Rates for the Maxima

I have Progressive car insurance and I pay over $200 a MONTH for my '99 Max SE!! With the AAA "discount" it's over $2650 a year!!! I have the state minimum coverage for Georgia (with $500 collision and comprehensive, of course) but it's still about twice the amount my friends are paying for similar cars.

I was determined to be "at fault" in an accident a year ago--no injuries and no tickets resulted. I'm 24 (turning 25 in July) and I know the rate might go down a little...but what could possibly be the reason my insurance is so high??? The V6? The Max is great, but it's no sports car. I make payments on the car, rent (not own a house) and am single. My mechanic said that they are stolen a lot (which I really haven't heard) and are therefore rated a little higher.

I've checked around and, believe it or not, Progressive is actually the lowest rate for me. Is there anyone out there with unusually high insurance rates for their Maxima?

Look down, if you got a johnson between your legs your insurance is high.

If not, enjoy the coin saved.

I think overall, it's just a combination of a lot of factors that keeps my insurance so high. 24-year-old single male, Atlanta, Georgia, and the car itself, etc.

My reasoning is, if I'm paying all this money to keep my Max on the road, I might as well enjoy every second that I'm driving it! :sun:

I actualy found www.esurance.com to be cheaper than progressive (by about 200 bucks a year) and u get way more coverage.....

My record isn't great, I turned 25 last August and I pay about $1000/6 month......before my 25th b-day, I payed about 1150/ 6 months

As far as I know, my record is the only thing that keeps my premium high..........I don't think it's the Max

For shits and giggles, I went to some sites to get auto insurance quotes.
Because of my accident, Esurance couldn't offer any coverage at all. The site referred me to Geico, their partner in crime. I thought it was some kind of joke, but Geico's site offered me $2,256.70 for SIX MONTHS!! That's almost DOUBLE what I pay now with Progressive! No help at all.

State Farm's site saw that I had an accident and couldn't give me a price online. They want me to talk to a State Farm Agent to get a quote. I have heard, though, that if you already have an existing insurance policy with State Farm (renter's, homeowner's, etc.) then they'll give you a break on your auto. Probably the same with other companies as well.
