91 ranger

91 ranger wont go into gear, linkage is fine, gearshift just goes thru the motions! drove fine the night before, next morning nothing! no warning, like the usual slipping sound when the tranny goin out. dropped pan, fluid still looked clean, took out filter little sludge in it, dont know where to go now! please give me some hints

The torque converter drives a pump I've seen the tips break but this usually
happens when they didn't set the converter properly in place. Does this unit have electric solenoids they sometimes go bad.
I'm uncertain from your post if you have a standard shift I would suspect a slave cylinder change both if bleeding doesn't fix your problem.

check the fluid level. There is a good chance if the fluid level gets too low or too dirty, the trans will not move. if its good take it to a transmission repair shop, and scan the trouble codes.

its automatic tranny, i just got fuel pump issues fixed now this!! its like its in neutral. no change in sound even when going thru p r n d

Its a long shot did you unplug something by mistake when working on the fuel pump?
