Glue!?!

There's some type of glue that holds the shift knob and the boot together (I pried it apart

) which in turn leaves no gap between the knob and the boot when installed. Anyone know what type of glue this is!?!

The shift knob is not attached to the boot. The boot is only held in place by the ring at the base and a collar at the top.
