98 S10 hard shift

I have a 98 S10 4 cyl 2 wheel drive auto. Shifts fine except between 1 and 2. Very abrupt and hard into 2nd. Appreciate your help.

Re: 98 S10 hard shift

How many miles on it?
Fluid level and condition?
Ever been serviced?
Any check engine lights?
Need scanned for both engine running and transmission problems.
Post back any codes engine or transmission.

Find a good transmission capable scanner and see what is going on.

Re: 98 S10 hard shift

But was it a transmission capable scanner.
A OBD 11 scanner will not give out transmission codes and transmission data and shifting information..
What was the shift errow seconds?
What was the transmission pressure doing.
