Help Needed 2002 Denali Wont Stay Running
Ok hopefully someone can assist me here with my issue. My 2002 Denali will turn over and fire and run and if I push on the gas, it acts like it is flooding out and will idle rough and die.
I just changed the fuel filter and Fuel Pump 2 months ago. I have checked the fuel Rails and fuel is making it to the engine. I had the alternator checked and it was not making enough volts so I thought it wasn't getting enough power to the electronics. So I changed the Alternator and that didn't help either. The issue that I am running up against is that the Check Engine Light is not on and I have been told that the hand computers will not identify the issue without the "Check Engine" light being on. I was able to hook the puter up to it and it reads the following: MIL OFF Monitrs 5 Inc Catlyst Evap O2 Snsr O2 Htr EGR 3 Ready Misfire Fuel Comp Any assistance I can get would be greatly appreciated. Does it die out in park on the gas pedal or in gear under load?

Re: Help Needed 2002 Denali Wont Stay Running
It will die out in Park. If I can get it above 1500 RPM's and ease on the gas it seems to be fine.
As well I did finally pull two codes P0174 and P0174 which says Bank 1 and 2 are running lean. I hate to spend$300-400 on sensors if this isn't the issue. Man this is getting to be costly. |

Re: Help Needed 2002 Denali Wont Stay Running
Check the fuel pressure first, look for 58-60 psi.
