97 Grand Marquis digital dash, cruise was working fine last major trip (about 5 months ago) then recently stopped working, I had gotten the recall notice from ford about cruise control part replacement and took it in yesterday for that to get fixed but the cruise still doesn't work (was hoping that was it).
I have verified the fuse (#6 position) is intact and does operate, the other items like the clock also tied into this fuse do work etc. As mentioned above, I have taken it in for the recall work to be done and that is complete as well. When I hit ON (to start cruise) i see SPEED CONTROL on digital dash but when i hit SET to maintan a certain speed it is as if I didn't even hit set (no braking) just the car slows down naturally once I let off the gas pedal vs maintaining the speed as it used to do. Is there anything I can check or do myself here that might save me bigtime at the dealership to fix this? What common things happen that might be causing this to not work? I have a big trip coming up this weekend 5 hrs each way would LOVE to get this working if I can before the trip but can't afford the big shop costs at this time. Bill

Re: 97 Marquis Cruise Control Not Working (what can I do or check)?
Make sure the brake light switch is operating properly. Also check for grounds at the cruise module. I think pin 6 and pin 10 are grounds. Does your horn work? Ford runs the horn ground through the cruise control module.
