What Coolant To Use?

I have a 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix with 420,000 KM on it, and a friend of mine keeps swearing by Dex-Cool but i don't know. Thought i'd ask here because i believe in doing proper research on anything that comes up.

Yes i'am the original owner.

Thanks for any suggestive comments.

Re: What Coolant To Use?

Try Prestone Extended Life. It is better than Dexcool and will work with the Dexcool that you may already have in your car or the Green antifreeze without any special changes and it won't affect the gaskets.

Re: What Coolant To Use?

GM did not start using Dex-Cool until 1996 I believe. So your car came from the factory with the "green coolant". Stick with that or extended life antifreeze/coolant.
