Re: Were is Vin

The VIN is embossed on a stainless steel plate, which is either spot-welded or rivitted to the door frame inside the driver door, near the dome light pin switch. It is a ten-digit number. The first two digits are stamped from the top and the last eight digits are embossed from the bottom.

Your car should also have a Body Data Code plate under the hood, on the inside fender panel, on the driver's side of the engine compartment. On the bottom line of this plate, you will see a three-digit number under the heading BDY. The first two digits of this number should match the first two digits of the VIN, the digits stamped from the top.

Let us know what you find.
