Cool A/c Problems For 1997 Dodge Neon Help!!!

I Know I Got A Leak In It, Because I Put Freon In It And A Week Later Its Gone. What I Am Trying To Do Now Is Shoot Some In It But The Compressor Won't Come And I Can't Find The Low-pressure Cycling Switch To Put A Jumper Wire On It, So The Compressor Will Come On. Can Anybody Help Me With This Please!!!

Do I Run A Wire From One Prong To The Battery, Or Is It Going To Be Two Separate Wires. One To Each Prong And Both To The Battery.

you put a paper clip across the wiring harness terminals that plug into this switch- and don't let it touch metal...

so i stick a paper clip in both sides of the harness (booth) and thats it. I don't have to hook it back up to the switch or run a wire to the battery or anything.

You only jump it to get the 134a to suck into the system . Put 1 can in while its jumped then remove the wire and put the plug back to the switch and see if the compressor cycles. If it does, then fill it to the proper pressure.

I had the gauges hooked up and open while i did that and it didn't suck the 134a and the compressor didn't come on. The clutch won't turn.

You are unplugging the connector from the switch when you jump it right?

I mean the gauges were hooked up and the 134a can hooked to the yellow hose. the low side hooked up and high side hooked up.I opened everything so if the cluth turned by the jumper it will suck in the freon.

Re: A/c Problems For 1997 Dodge Neon Help!!!

So when you jump the low side switch the compressor does not turn. Check the fuse and relay. Unless the comp. is running it won't take the 134 you are correct. You can try jumping the high side switch also. But be careful and just see if turns. If it does the the hi side switch may be bad or you have a wiring prob. And quite possible the ac button inside the car is not working.

Re: A/c Problems For 1997 Dodge Neon Help!!!

I might be doing the jumper wrong. What i do is put a paperclip across the prongs on the switch or stick the paperclip in the 2 slots of the clip with wires coming out of it.
