air conditioning

Where is the low and high pressure for aircondishing on 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva ? And does anyone know how to fill the aircondishing up thanks all.

Nick,

As I have a '94, it may be a bit different, but it's probably the same. If you look between the radiator and the motor, you will see a metal tube with a plastic cap, it's either blue or red, this is actually the high pressure side. If you look in the same area a little lower, there is another similar plastic cap (blue or red) and this should be your low pressure. The low pressure port is on the same line that goes into the compressor.

I just serviced mine with the quick fill stuff I got at Autozone. Pretty much just followed the instructions on the can and hose attachment - but basically you turn on the car, turn the a/c on max cool, connect the servicing hose TO THE LOW PRESSURE SIDE, open the can and let it fill the system (it tells you to agitate and rotate the can during this). I'd get the hose adapter with a guage so you can have an idea how low/high the system actually is.
