Question 92 Cutless Cierra 3.3 Catalyic Converter leak before

I had a new catalyic converter installed on my cutless but recently noticed an exhaust leak before the catalyic converter due to a bad weld. My car is running unusually (but the service engine light is NOT on) when in gear and driving (uses up alot of gas) and seems to miss. The spark plug wires are good, the plugs have been replaced. Could this leak before the Catalyic Converter cause this?

Not usually, unless it is in front of the o2 sensor.

So the reason for missing while in gear (idles normal) might be a bad coil? By the way, replaced the Crank position sensor recently.
