99 cougar 2.5l 5spd mount question..please help
what is the mount/bushing that is located directly under the air box called?
is that a transmission mount,motor mount,some type of bushing etc... its about the size of a sods can {a little smaller and fatter}.is this called a transmission anchor mount.and what does it do? would it make my car shift hard when changing gears,would i have clunking noises in my front end because of it etc.....any help would be appreciated thanx |

This is the trans mount.
Yes, if the trans mount is poorly secured to the trans, you can experience notchy engagement and clunking.
