grand am 2.4l front seal leakin

well my grand am just started leaking from the front seal all of the sudden so i went ahead and changed the front seal cause i hate having to check and add oil all the time,well its still leaking and ive changed these type of seals plenty of times so i dont think i damaged it during installation but i dont know,but right before before it started leaking oil i had removed the egr and it made it run like crap so i put it back on and changed my oil to synthetic at the same time and then i noticed the leak like the next day,im not for sure if the oil or egr has anything to do with it or not but it just seems kinda odd it started leaking oil the day after i did the egr and oil,my question is could the egr or the synthetic oil have anything to do with this or could i have messed something up to where it wouldnt be relieving crankcase pressure,i dont know im lost if anyone has any kind of insight i would really appreciate it,thanks in advance,joe
