2000 Imapala headlight problems

My headlights will NOT come on!!! All other lights work (high beans, DRLs, parking lights). When my car switches from DRLs to headlights just the amber colored lights are on. I've had to use my high beams to get back and forth to work for a few days and now the lever that controls the turn signals and high beams won't even cut the high beams on. I've checked the bulbs, battery and fuses for and all is fine. Any suggestions? I need some help ASAP.

Have you checked the relays? Sounds to me like they might be bad; first bad contactors for the low beams and now the whole relay may be bad.

Open up the fuse panel. . . Find the relay that controls your headlights. Pull it out. (It may be hard but just yank it straight out!) I constantly have a greenish buildup on some of my older relays. (Probably from moisture.) I just take an old tooth brush and clean off the contacts. You can also just replace it. (Probably a better option and not expensive!)

Replacing the relays would be the easiest, and probably the best, idea.

thanks for the imput. I've been out of town with the wife and haven't had the chance to check it out. I'll try tomorrow and give some feed back.
