Axle Replacement
Working on a '95 Town Car. The car has air springs and needs the rear axle replaced. Can I remove the rear axle without removing the air springs? From reading the repair manual, it says you need a diagnostic tool to re-inflate the air springs. I do not have that tool.

Re: Axle Replacement
No diagnostic tools needed to inflate the springs. Make sure you turn off the system before jacking the car.
Follow this process and you'll be fine: http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00003.html

Re: Axle Replacement
Steven , Kit1993,
Thank you for the reply. I am replacing the entire axle assembly. Real good friend of our church drove up from Nashville and his axle snapped in two. Have the old axle out. Will try the procedure from Steven. Sounds like it should work! Monte. |

Re: Axle Replacement
Steven,
Your post work perfectly! Thank you very much for the info. It saved me a lot of time. Have the new rear end in and the air springs inflated. Yea! Monte |
