To those of you living in Florida (I believe Mike and evildragon, and whoever else may live in Florida)... I'm going to be heading down there for a little over a week. I'll be there from the afternoon of Saturday, June 28th through Monday, July 7th in the morning. I'll be staying in Deltona (I believe it's somewhat near Orlando) for the majority of the time, I was just wondering if any of you guys knew of any junk yards around there. Lol, I'm one of the few people who would love to spend thier vacation out of state junkyard hopping.
But yeah, anyway I figured while I was down there, I'd see what they had... since salt isn't used for any road purpose as far as I know, I can't imagine the cars to be too rusty. Last time I was there I don't think I remember seeing hardly any rust on vehicles, new or old. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
hmm i dont know of any around that way, i live more south of there (about an hour north of miami to be exact) i know of three good ones around here though. but yeah i never see any rust on most cars here, and if i do they were cars that were most likely up in the snow. let me know if you come down this way at some point of being here.

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
I'll have my laptop, but might not neccesaraly have internet access while down there. Whats the name of the town you live in? I can compare the distance via MapQuest. I'd be willing to drive up to an hour or so just to find a yard.

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
Hm, that'd still be like a three hour drive. If I head out that way I'll check it out though. From Google's sattelite image that looks like a pretty big yard. Does it span across McAllister Way, or is it on just that one side?

( You think like I used to.. okay still do . Back many years ago , my friend and I were planning on going to Florida for a week, and part of the time we wanted to check out some of the "Southern junkyards" to see what they had since the ones up here in NY have little in rust free parts. Something about walking around a salvage yard... it's like going on a treasure hunt. Unfortunately, we never did make it down there )

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
Come to Arizona some time - we have cheap junkyards with good parts out here.

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
I think I may be going in the fall, but I'm not 100% on that one. I do have Family in AZ. I'd love to go there sometime... hot, but with low humidity.

Hey hey hey, I'm just going by what I've heard. No doubt it gets hot as hell, especially when you look at the geographical location.

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
Hell, PeteA216 and I are used to high humidity
( living only about an hour to hour and a half away from each other.) In the summer it's very common to get temps in the 90s with up to 95%+ humidity and the dew points in the 70s which is sub tropical. Bring it on !

Re: Caprice Owners Living in Florida!
I've been to vegas during the summer of 2006 so i know what desert heat is all about, that and ive been to michigan in the middle of winter in -6 weather. so this florida heat isnt that bad, just the massive humidity gets to you.
