Glove Box Latch

Can anyone tell me how to get the locking latch out the glove box door on a 2003 Olds Silhouette. The spring seems to be broke and the lever handle will not latch with the hook, or move back and forth. I took the 2 screws out but this did not allow the latch to be taken out. Thanks for any help.

I just bent the hook back in place.

yeah mine got bent outta place and just bent the catch hook back and it would shut again.
