98' geo tracker tries to start but will not

This is my first post and hope someone could help. I have a 1998 geo tracker V4-16 valve and multi-fuel injected thats driving me bonkos. The car tries to start but will not. I'm getting a strong white spark in all the cylinders. New timing belt and doubled check with TDC. Plugs are in good shape with oil deposits. checked fuel filter and it's good. there are no DTC codes. pumping the pedal when trying to start it only floods it(example: holding the peddle to the floor...it tries to start and stops, releasing the peddle after that it will try to start again and stop). It was sudden when it died, no early signs. It has white exhaust.1 & 2 plugs had gas on them, No.3 & 4 did not have gas on them that i noticed. Do you know what it could be causing it?. Thank you.

Re: 98' geo tracker tries to start but will not

PROBLEM SOLVED........Cleaned the distributor and rotor, and I knew it was something simple. I tried to start it and it fired right up. used ether before but nothing, now I had to use ether and it starts good.

The Real Culprit is........

Camshaft positioning Sensor - OBD II error reading P0340. I ordered the rotor, cap, and the Camshaft positioning sensor for under 100.00.

This tracker was new to me and not sure when and if parts were replaced. here's a hint.....when cleaning the cap, pull the spring with the rotor contact out just a tiny bit to make sure it touches the rotor, this is how I found the P0340 code.
