Toyota Brake light randomly quitting

The driver's side brake light will randomly stop functioning. I'm sure all the wires are connected properly and the bulb is not burnt out. The passenger side and 3rd brake light work fine just the driver's side. I was thinking maybe the socket was damaged in some way but the marker light still works fine.

Anyone have any ideas? Also will the 03-05 Cavalier tail light socket fit in the 95-99 Toyo tail and function? Im too lazy to go look for myself

Re: Toyota Brake light randomly quitting

Alright I went and looked things over quick. Im 90% sure my socket is #@%*ed. It appears all burnt up on the inside. Good new though I looked at my 03 Socket quick and it appears to be the same (Good ol' GM saving money =) ) minus the secondary marker lamp. So tomorrow Ill cut off the 2ndary lamp, and swap the sockets (more good news just unplug and replug no more cutting and sodering!) Hopefully it works.

Oh I also got my CF Benzel, Car is sex now if you dont mind the ride height =)

Shouldn't this be in the TOYota forum?

No sir, GM sold cavaliers from 95-00 to Toyota badged as a Toyota Cavalier. They were Cavaliers, but RHD and had many upgrades over our domestic J-bodies which DO swap into our domestic J's. Some items are;
* Tail lights
* Wider front fenders
* Power folding mirrors.
* Rear seat folding arm rest
* Trunk carpet liner
....etc.

This this is in reference to these.... 95-99 version Toyota Cavalier tail lights. JDM YO....

Normal 95-99 tails..

Note the amber in the toyota tails and not in the domestic ones. The blinker and stop bulbs are separate, so a little re-wiring is required for properly installation.

Re: Toyota Brake light randomly quitting

Well, Since we're on the topic, I plugged in my 03 Socket and it works fine. The Toyota Socket was completely fried.
