Brake light Problems

So my 2000 grand am Se, has the emergency brake light on, even though the E-brake is off. I checked the little switch under the middle console, it was fine, so i tested the contanuity from that plug of the switch to the frame and there was contanuity, so i guess it is grounded, then i followed the wire all the way from that switch to the dash and couldnt find anywhere where it was pinched or grounded, any thoughts on this??

Re: Brake light Problems

Sounds like the switch inside the shifter console is sticking or bad.
Have you also tried lifting and releasing the e-brake a few times ?

Re: Brake light Problems

Ok then check your brake fluid level, probly should hav done this first.

If thats ok you'll probly have to have it scanned with an ABS capable tool to find out why its on.
