Re: Smoke from near headers

During the install they may have accidently let some slip onto the manifolds. Does it smell like burning oil?

Re: Smoke from near headers

I've accidentally dripped some oil on my manifolds and it really does stink/smoke for a while. After a day or two of driving, it usually burns off and goes away.

Re: Smoke from near headers

Keep an eye on the oil level, they might have misaligned the gasket and its leaking oil worse.

Otherwise all the oil on the manifold should just burn off. I just replaced both my valve cover gaskets, and I didnt spill any oil on my manifolds.

Re: Smoke from near headers

funny you say that, I think my oil pan gasket is leaking also. Too expensive to have it repaired. I'm only low about a half quart between changes, so its not a major deal yet.
