I replaced a Quad four motor on my Achieva 93

What a job ! but it's done and all is well. The original motor died and it was a bit of my fault I admit it, I used my car like a truck to many times during the construction of my cottage, but to make a story short I got this 2.3 at $450.00 and has 139K on it and all I can say is that the starter and alternator should be rebuilt and the serpentine should be changed in the process. The sensors are all unique and easy to reconnect. When removing the motor it is better to remove the front air intake to access the starter and transmission and torque converter, the same should be done when installing the replacement motor because the gasket is made out of Teflon and it doesn't get damaged.

See I’m an electro-mechanic and the manager of an electric motor shop and I have all the tools and cranes to do the work so that's why I did it.

So if you guys have questions don't be shy, I to found a lot of answers on this forum.

Cheers and good luck...

Re: I replaced a Quad four motor on my Achieva 93

Hello Rick,
I am in the process of replacing a QUAD 4 on a 1994 Achieva and was wondering if you had any tips or tricks on doing the job? Did you remove just the engine or engine & trans together? How long did the job take you? I already have my motor and just started taking the old one out.

I just got done getting the alternator & starter disconnected last night (what a job) and then read your post. Oh well. haha.
