Runaway 92 2.3 Truck Motor

When I left work yesterday my engine idled fine. Somewhere betweeen there and the turn off to the house the engine idle climbed up to about 4000 rpm and won't return to idle.

The throttle stop still bottoms out so the throttle plate(s) should be closed.(?)
There is still accelerator pedal so the cable hasn't slipped nor is it stuck.

Though old, all of the hoses (my first thought) are still in the correct places.

Intake manifold is secure.

Is there an electro valve associated with the idle that could be causing this? If there is Is there a check other than replacement that could test it ? If not anyone got a clue?

Any help would be appreciated as this is my work transportation.

You might want to check the IAC valve aka idle air control valve assuming its not a diesel it should have one.
