2004 Grand AM

Pleeeeease help me.
The check engine soon indicator constantly comes on after I reset it by Autozone every month. I have checked and everyone wants a $100 bill to check it out for me. Where can I go in Chicago to get this checked and fix for under 100$. Is this an issue with Grand AM's. Can someone please let me know what to do about this light!

Also, I hit a bump in the road or a little bounce and the front end sound this some type of squeaky noise. What in the world could that noise be?
It sounds like something is jumping up and down like a old mattress spring.
Please help, send me some information please please!

Re: 2004 Grand AM

You said you had the SES light reset at Autozone before. . . What was the code they read? If they just reset the light but did not fix the problem the light is going to keep coming on. I would just say go back to Autozone or any other parts store that will do a diagnostic check for you. I think most of them will do it for free or let you rent a scanner for pretty cheap. You need to figure out why the light is on and fix the problem! As far as the front end noise goes it could be many things! I would start by making sure there is no play in the tie rod ends. IMO it is one of the easiest things to check and also one of the easiest things to repair up there!
