1999- e250 4.2l, code 0401- EGR fault

Hi there. Hope you can help. As stated in the title I have an Service engine soon light on and the 0401 code.

I've read that this fault is primarily caused by the EGR Pressure Sensor, and not the EGR valve.

Perhaps, but I've had this van for nearly 4 years now and this is the first time I've taken the cover off inside the cab to gain access to the engine.

To make a long story short, I cannot locate/see the EGR valve let alone the Pressure Sensor......

Is it on the drivers side (left side of engine) or the Passenger side?

How is it best to see/gain access (from cab, or beneath the truck via wheel well, etc)....?

I'm getting on in age and am looking to minimize my crawling around and hunting for parts......
