'97 Grand Caravan A/C lights flash
I have had this car for 1 1/2 years and the A/C lights have flashed since i bought it but the A/C didn't work. Just repaired the A/C and the lights will still flash for a few minutes but after 10-15 minutes will function normally and will continue to do so until the ignition is turned off. Anyone have any experience on how to remedy this problem? Thanks.

Re: '97 Grand Caravan A/C lights flash
The system has to pass a "Cool Down" test to reset the lights. Try this:
Climate Control System Calibration "Start the van. Turn on the blower on high. Simultaneously push the top and bottom wiper buttons on the left side of the climate control panel for 5 seconds. All the lights on the panel will light up. Then two lights on the left side will alternately flash for about two minutes and you'll hear the ventilation modes cycle. When just the top light on the left side slowly flashes push that button and you're done. All lights should be out and you should be back to normal. This is the climate control calibration/cool down test and it resets the HVAC system computer."

Re: '97 Grand Caravan A/C lights flash
Well, you're making some progress at least. Your indications are saying it failed the cool down test. Beyond this point I can only relay tidbits I've read. Sometimes it takes several attempts to get it to pass. Sometimes disconnecting the battery resets the module. Sometimes heating up the interior makes it pass. There are several having the same problem on this and other forums. If they find a solution I'll let you know.
Here's everything I have on the system: http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes-climate.html http://www.visteonclimatecontrolprod...41695_tsbs.htm EDIT - Just found this: http://autorepair.about.com/library/faqs/bl043i.htm
