Car died. Battery? or Alternator?

I was on my way to work today when I noticed my battery light on the dash was fading in and out. After a few minutes my radio stopped working. Then my blinders stopped working as did my speedometer and rpm meter. When I got to work a mile later, I shut my car off and tried to restart it. I would not start. Do you think by battery is bad (which is the original, so it is six years old) or do you think it is the alternator (which is also the original)? Thanks for the help!!!

Re: Car died. Battery? or Alternator?

If you go to auto zone they can test it for free. But i would say if your stuff started to turn off when you were driving i would say it would be your alternator. Its just what i think could be wrong . But your battery being 6 years old it can go at any min. But my thinking is if your alternator was good it would run all you stuff when the car is running.
