need help

does anyone know where i can find out which transmission is in my ford ranger 4x4 truck .its a 1984 model automatic with no overdrive.
\ i was told it was a c-5. i do have the tag off the trans, but dont how to find out about it .

C-5 is correct.
The 2 wd versions had the C-3 transmission.
