change both F rotors, not pads?
Ok, so I got 4 new summer tires installed on 4 rims about 1 month ago. I don't drive the van that much, my wife does. Today we go for a drive and there is a definite "dub dub dub" when you ghost the brakes which increases with pressure. So, having had this in the past and it being a warped rotor, I'm 100% convinced that at some hard braking incident the rotor has warped due to inaccurate lug nut torque. I replaced the rotors and pads about 15,000 km ago and I know that the pads are at least 3/16" (if not more) thick. Oh, btw, drums rear, rotors front.
Can I replace both rotors but use the same pads? I know that this is generally a no-no but I just can't see replacing the pads knowing how much life is left in them. I plan on having the rotors turned as I'm sure they have life in them too but need to do the job asap so tomorrow it'll be new rotors. Whatda ya think? Piper

If the pads are in good shape not scored or worn uneven. You should be fine not replacing them. If it was me, I wouldn't waste time with the old pads, if you're going to do the work anyways why not just change the pads as they're not expensive at all. That's my opinion!!

I agree the pads aren't that much $$ but last time I used raybestos parts and they were ~$60 Canadian a set. If I'd used the cheapies It'd be a no brainer but they're barely broken in!!!

The ones I just bought from NAPA were ceramic they sold for $85(cdn) but they gave me a discount so I paid $53(cdn) for the pads. One thing I don't like going cheap on is tires and brakes!! If the pads are still in good shape like I stated before then reuse them. Don't buy those cheap crappy pads and rotors like you find at Canadian Tire.

If your only problem is the pulsating rotors when the brakes are applied, then I would just wait, wear the brakes out and then replace everything in one shot.
Oh and make sure you get a torque wrench for those lug nuts (100lbs torque).
