Header install

I have bought the pace setter header system for my 89 4.0 w/auto tranny. I was wondering if anyone has installed this before, and if there are any problems or mods that I may have to do to install this correctly. I ahve already cleaned the intake and all ports. will replace the EGR, (150K) I have purchased the manifold gaskets from napa for the manifold and cat flanges, the gaskets offered look cheap.

Re: Header install

I didn't go this route when I did my 88, based on what I found while googling around.

The exh flange is a bit thinner than the intake. Make sure you use the stepped washers they provide.

The O2 sensor mounts in a different location. You'll need to extend the harness.

Some reported the fit is pretty sloppy and needed a bit of persuasion to get the pipes all together. Others reported leaks.

However, many report getting everything together OK, and working out fine.
