Steering wheel volume button not working

I have an idea of whats wrong with this, but let me explain.

I have an 06 cobalt ss supercharged (bought 2 weeks ago) with the steering wheel and all the little fancy buttons on it (cruise control and radio controls).

Anyways, all the buttons seem to work fine except for the volume up button, I am figuring its just a wiring issue, but would like to see what else anyone knows before I pull of the cover and take a look.

The button does not work at all. It worked for maybe the first half week but has not worked since. I just press the button and nothing happens.

If this means anything to the problem too, the sunroof button is not working consistently either. For those who have it, you know when you press the sunroof button only slightly and it only opens up to just crack the sunroof but not continue to open.

Well for whatever reason that function will just randomly stop working (seems to be only after I drive the car for awhile, or pin the gas pedal) but if I press the button all the way in the sunroof will open up all the way completely.

So any ideas before I just pop off the buttons and look myself?
