2003 Driver Window problems

I got in my car with the windows up, started the car lowered the driver window and it made a cracking noise when it was going down. Put the window back up and while driving it went down by itself and now won't go back up. The motor is still working but making this noise like something's broken inside of it.

I took the door panel off but can't see anything, it just sounds like broken gears inside the motor.

Thanks
Micro

Re: 2003 Driver Window problems

Sounds like some of the nylon pieces on the window regulator assembly broke. A new power window regulator will probably fix the issue.

The window fell straight down fast like nothing was holding it up. So the you think the motor is still good? I'll tell my mechanic on Monday about it when I take it in.

Thanks for your help.

The new window regulator will probably also come with a new motor. Expect the regulator to run you around $130 for the part.
