2000 Tahoe A/C only cold when moving
My a/c blows hot air until I begin driving. Once I achieve highway speeds, it begins to cool off.
Could this problem be linked to another problem involving the trauck going dead? Sometimes, more often now, the Tahoe will simply go dead on me, usually when I am making a sharp turn. Any suggestions? |

Re: 2000 Tahoe A/C only cold when moving
I would check for proper R-134a charge.
Post back low and high side readings at idle and at 2K for more help on it. Best to fix the engine running problem first. MT

Re: 2000 Tahoe A/C only cold when moving
I had the same problem with my A/C in my 2001 Silverado. Turned out to be the fan clutch. The fan wasn't cooling like it should have when the vehicle was stopped. After replacing the fan clutch the A/C stays ice cold all the time.
I didn't realize it was the fan clutch until I had to tow a heavy load, the truck got a little warmer than usual during a stop at a gas station. The A/C didn't stay cool while stopped since I've owned the truck, I thought it was normal. It took a heavy load on a hot day to surface the problem. |
