Re: rear window

A buddy just bought some Lexan for our cars. I'll be picking it up this weekend. I'll get you the source we used. It's supposed to be better quality stuff than what was in there. Coated, etc. Plus it has the added benefit of being able to see through it.

Re: rear window

The rear window in these cars is useless any way all you can see is wing, corvettes, vipers, and a peskie yellow FFR Coupe.

Re: rear window

After Having Removed The Rear Window I'm Asking Myself, How Necessary Is The Rear Window? Has Anyone Run Their Car Without It?

Might even go faster now that the air restriction is gone.

Re: rear window

I found that a little plastic cleaner and plastic polish from meguiars w/ a porter cable buffer worked wonders on our car.

Re: rear window

SCCA will not allow you to run without rear glass, lexan is the best
to make rear glass. I was Parts Manager for Panoz that's what we used.

Re: rear window

Our window was useless last time out - Chin expects point by for faster cars BEFORE they have to slow down - can't really do that by "FEEL"

Glen and I used the headlight cleaner in the silver pouch from Advance Auto Parts. http://www.bestheadlightcleaner.com/ I had used it before on the headlights of a Grand Cherokee and was impressed. The kit is overpriced at $20 - but it worked. The window is back to transparent.

The kit is two wetsand grits (guessing about 1600 and 2500), a polishing compound and the only item I am not sure what to substitute and the key element in the restoration process - a wipe-on clear plastic coating - that fills and eliminates all the polishing marks.

We'll see how long the $20 approach lasts
