'02 Sunfire performance boost

i want to get performance exaust and air filter that will boost power for my car. i'm not really sure whats good and whats not, i'm able to spend about $150 on the muffler. is there one for that price that will give the car a "beefy-er" sound?

well your not going to get any boost in performance if your just getting a muffler but it will sound better with a magnaflow, if you spend more than $150 and get full exhaust with header, high flow cat, and resonator it will sound mean and you will get better performance

If you want the car to sound better you can change out the muffler, I like the sound of the stainless oval magnaflows (like the ones classicrocjunkie has). That is what I have on mine, they don't have the chainsaw/rice sound that I hate and they have a resonable sound level (the cops won't mess with you). If you can't afford an intake you can pull the intake baffle out of the fender that silences the intake sound, it's free and give a little better flow and some intake sound.
