Most of the time it cranks great But after i drive like just a few miles then turn the engine off when I go to restart the truck the starter drags pretty bad it usually cranks up, but I was just wondering if there is anything I can do I had a 94 Firebird which done the same thing but I traded it before i fixed the problem Thanks for any replies

I have a 98 Sonoma 4 cylinder that did the same thing. Had a rebuilt starter installed and that fixed the problem.

Check (maybe loosen and clean too) all your wire connections to the starter @ both ends. If that doesnt work, your starter may slownly be dying. Sounds like it dosnt like to function when hot. My s-15 did that but it was just the connections.

I took the old starter off and took it apart for inspection it was pretty bad on the side that is closest to the exaust the rest looked great so I replaced it with a rebuilt one with a full warranty and it does great cranks anytime cold or hot.
