HELP! 2002 G Caravan Turn Signals Staying on

Hi there
This has just recently started the signal lights are staying on and I manually have to click off. Sometimes I don''t realize it is still on so this is unsafe.

Could it be the Combination Flasher unit has become unseated and or going bad?
If so Can you tell me its location. I have read so many different places but I am thinking it may be inside the fuse box under the dash?

Or are the signals now in the BCM?

Do I have to disconnect the battery before messing with it {due to accidental airbag deployment}

I would appreciate any input re: Combination Flasher unit or perhaps the actual turn signal switch inside the steering column.

I am hoping to fix this myself as the deductable on my extended warranty would be more than the fix.
I am heading out on a month long road trip today so please reply if possible.

Thank You
Jan

Re: HELP! 2002 G Caravan Turn Signals Staying on

If you have to manually push the turn signal lever off, you have a mechanical problem in the lever/switch mechanism. I believe the mechanism is all part of the multifunction switch assembly. You'll have to remove the trim panels from the steering column and investigate and probably change the assembly.

Yes, disconnect the battery and wait 3 minutes before working the area. This disables the airbag system.
