01 f-1505.4 engine ticking

it has 70,000 and i just replaced the plugs about 2,000 miles ago and now I hear a ticking. I believe it is the fuel injectors but not sure. as i excel or raise the rpms, it increases so thats what makes it is the injectors. Is this a serious problem or should i just not worry and let it annoy the hell out of me. lol

Could possibly be a pully or idler somewhere, too. Especially since you say it increases as your RPMs go up.

Re: 01 f-1505.4 engine ticking

If it wasnt making the noise before the tune up, i would double check the spark plugs and make sure theyre tight. A loose plug can cause a ticking noise from the slight exhaust leak. Also check your coil pack/plug wires for spark arcing to ground or between terminals. Injectors usually make noise in unison, like 8 clicks per revolution of the crank. Does it sound like alot of little clicks, or just from one cyl? Injector noise is common, if theres no miss associated with it i wouldnt worry too much.
