Quite an embarrassing question!

Hi all, im new here!

Just a quick question.

My dad has a mk4 20v 1.8 GTi

Trying to put some new pedals and a new gearknob on, but we cant get the old ones off, we have tried everything! Seems VW have made such a good job at putting them on....they just wont come off!

Anyone else have this problem?

Also - will we need a new gaitor when we put a new gearknob on or will the existing one still be usable?

Cheers!

If the pedals won't come off, try heating them somehow. that should make it easyer to rip them off.
To remove the shift knob, release the boot, lift it up, cut the brass band, and pull the knob off.
Installing the new knob is diffrent from knob to knob. What kind is it?
