Replacing Window Motor
The driver's side window on my wife's 01 Venture will not go up/down without assistance. It seems like the motor is not strong enough to operate the window. I pulled the panel off and everything seems to be fine so I'm guessing that it is the motor.
When reading the manual, it states that a special tool is needed to remove the motor and/or regulator. I am looking for someone that has done this repair and might have some step by step directions on how to do it. I am thinking of just going ahead and replacing both the motor and regulator while I have it apart. |

Re: Replacing Window Motor
never replaced a motor on a Venture before but have eased up a few windows. get a can of spray silicone and spray the felt in the window tracks. While you have the silicone out, spray the door seal to help keep from freezing in the winter.

Re: Replacing Window Motor
DAB77 is correct with the use of the silicone on the vertical felt tracks. Soak the @@@@ out of them, with someone operating the window up/down toggle, guide the first few up/downs to be sure the window stays in the tracks, and voila, you will see the can of spray was the solution. Wipe off excess silicone spray only after the window goes up/down w/o rocking. I sprayed my 97 the same way 1.5 yrs ago and not a window problem since. Let us know that the spray worked/did not work for you. Good luck. Make sure to use silicone, not WD-40.
