Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

Hello.

I am in need of a little audio advice.
What would sound better, the Bazooka Dual 10''s with 300watt amp from Circuit City, or getting two of the Pioneer 10"s from walmart with two of the Scosche boxes and using a Crossfire TEK 35.4w amp (4-Channel High Power Amplifier 35w x 4 @ 4ohm 50w x 4 @ 2ohm 100w x 2 @ 4ohm). I'm looking for more sound for rock music than rap, so yeah.

I wanted to get the Bazookas because they are on sale at Circuit City right now, and I'm trying to get a decent sounding setup right now before I start college, because once I start I prolly won't be able to get anything for my car for a while, so yeah.

Thanks!

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

Anything made by dual is complete crap. Cheap cheap cheap junk.

Pioneer is the better of the 2. I personally still wouldn't go with pioneer because it isn't that much better.

Then again, I am a person who sinks thousands of dollars into my car and doesn't think twice.

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

I wish I had that kind of money. Lol.
Their not made by Dual, their made by Bazooka.. The dual part is implying that there are two. Um.. what's a decent brand besides those that aren't super super expensive? Are the Sony Xplod subs decent?

Kicker, JBL, Infinity, Rockford Fosgate, Cerwin Vega

www.crutchfield.com go and read some reviews on the brands they sell and what people have thought of them. Look at the prices and go from there.

I have been working on this car for 6 years now, I don't expect people to be as dumb as I have been, continuing on being. But then again, I work for RD Fabs fabrication shop and am sponsored by Kinetik batteries and Dunlop tires.

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

you will get better sound from 1 good sub vs 2 not so good ones - get a sealed box for rock and roll ( the notes wont bellow out as much = tighter bass)

do you have aftermarket surround speakers?

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

The aftermarket speakres are Polk 4x6s and Kicker 6x9s in the back dash. I'm looking at either the Kicker Comp 10" or Rockford Fosgate 10''. I'm going to try to find an audio shop around to see if I can listen to these speakers... but not too many good shops in my area. I'd imagine those are better than the Bazookas..

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

Okay. Another question.
I think I've decided I'm gunna go with the Rockford FosgateP1S410 10" subs (two of them), in an MTX sealed box (because they got good reviews and are on sale at Circuit City). Now, a few questions. Will the amp I was given be okay for those two subs once I bridge it down to 2 channels? It's the Crossfire TEK 35.4w amp (4-Channel High Power Amplifier 35w x 4 @ 4ohm 50w x 4 @ 2ohm 100w x 2 @ 4ohm). I wanted to do the 100w x 2, and I know the RMS for the subs is 50-150watts, so I was just curious as to if that will adequately power them and not ruin them. Also, I have a 225watt amp wiring kit from walmart, common sense says that that will work for the amp, but I wanted to ask and be sure, so.. will that be adequate for the amp or should I get a higher wattage kit? Thanks for your help!

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

The amp should be fine, just don't abuse the speakers and they'll be fine (if you hear them distorting back off a little, b/c the distortion means you are 'clipping' and that will burn up the speakers). does the wiring kit have 8 gauge or 10 gauge power wire? I personally would use at least 8 gauge.

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

12 gauge power and ground wires, 20gauge speaker wire.

Should I try to return it and find it a better kit?

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

I would. I bought my amp wiring kit at walmart for about $30 and it came with 8 gauge power wires, but I had to buy speaker wire seperately so I bought some 12 gauge speaker wire (you can buy it by the foot at most audio stores).

Re: Bazooka Dual 10's Or Pioneer 10's

Okay, thanks. I'm going to return it since it's not opened and get the other one and than just the speaker wire. Glad to hear the amp will be okay for it. Thanks again.

EDIT-

Okay. Edit number 2 today. Got the power cable through the firewall (woot), but now the power cable doesnt seem too compatible with my battery terminals. Heh. They look like this:

err.. how would I make this work?

Would The $8 Scosche battery terminal work?

Also, the price of the enclosure I was gunna get for the two tens went back up to $60, so I was looking at the JBL DVC 4-ohm sub. If i bridge my 4 channel amp to 2 channels, can I run that sub? If so, would it be like, one voice coil the front channel and one on the back? Or do I have to wire it in any of that series or parallel stuff? I'd feel safest keeping my amp at the 4-ohm because I don't know if it can go down to 2-ohm in the 2 channel bridged. Thanks again for all the help!
