rear lights not working

My taillights work fine, but my brake lights and turn signals don't. I have checked the fuses and the bulbs. Need help.

Re: rear lights not working

What year?
Does 4 way flashers work?
Or is the 4W alasher button stuck on 4Way flash?
Go to turn signal switch and check for brake light in and out of turn signal switch.
The brake light go in to it from brake light switch.
Then splits and comes out left and right brake/turn signal wire.
Also check for 12 volts to rear lights and good ground back there.
Does it have a trailer plugin with cobbled up wiring?
Does rear tail light work good?
Any flasher/turn signal lights on dash on or on when turn signals or brake lights on?

It's a 96 blazer. The rear taillights work fine. There is no signal on dash. I have not checked trailer harness, looks to be good. I will check on it tomorrow for power and ground. Thanks for the info.

Re: rear lights not working

Any info on 4 way working or not working??
Get a test light and a good wiring diagram of the lihght circuit and turn signals and brake lights and start checking it out.
Good luck

Re: rear lights not working

If no turn signal on dash and no front turn signal go to the turn signal switch and check it out.
Make sure it has brake light into it and for fuse power into it.
You have to have power in before power comes out.

Thumbs up Re: rear lights not working

please check for recalls on your car. The dealership can tell you if your car is on list and they will repair the problem for free. Thats what was wrong with my.
