Heated Rims
I have chrome rims on my 98 cutty (sweet) and I just put some slotted rotors on it and for some reason the rim it self is getting extremely hot, to hot to even touch.
So the question is what it causing this extra heat where is it coming from, and could this harm the rims or the tires

Re: Heated Rims
How hot did they get before the swap, the wheels will get hot under hard braking, the comparison is the issue, or is one wheel hotter than the other.

Re: Heated Rims
Befor the break change, u could still touch the rims, now you cant even touch them, and both rims get equally as hot.

Re: Heated Rims
When they are this hot jack up the ft end see if there is any brake drag.

Re: Heated Rims

Re: Heated Rims
The calipers bind on the slides causing the brakes not to fully release, if this occurs you cannot just drive this way, dangerous and it will burn up the pads and rotors.
