Exclamation 94 Voyager brake bleeding problem

Hopefully someone can tell me the secret to correctly bleed the brakes on this van. It has ABS (not the bosch setup) and the rt frnt caliper was heating up. So I checked the hose & it was pretty well plugged (holding the brake partially on. Replaced both front hoses, discs, pads & rear shoes.Bled the brakes in the conventinal way-rr,lr,rf,lf. Don't get any real pedal, and its on the floor. With it pumped up I am unable to rotate the frnt wheel's but the rear's can be moved by hand with only a little resistance. Also installed new master & bench bled that before installing. Made sure the master was exactly the same.(actually returned the first master-thought it was defective) Anyway, finally read up on brake bleeding procedure in haynes-it says you need a scan tool for the abs controller? Anybody got any insight into this nightmare, PS brakes were fine except for the sticking frt caliper before I started. Any help would be appreciated--Thanks

Re: 94 Voyager brake bleeding problem

Ya, according to the good book (Haynes), once you crack a line open on the master cylinder, you have to use the scanner to bleed.

Here's another source that gives the whole procedure with the scanner: http://www.oplin.org/databases/proxy...%2fframerq.asp Takes a bit to get to it:

Enter 123456789 click submit
Scroll to Cincinatti Library click submit
Scroll to ARRC and click
Enter your info
Select Repair procedures from the list
Scroll to brakes and click
Click on Bendix system you have
For the Bendix 10 system select Component Replacement/bleeding
For the Bendix 4 system select Bleeding.

Re: 94 Voyager brake bleeding problem

Thanks for the response, the link to the actual procedure is an incredible resource. As for the procedure- OH MY GOD- bummer! Scan tool is way out there, only alternative is dealer or local shop (if they have abs scan tool). Will make call's monday. I thought my 93 T&C abs sucked. But at least I can bleed it normally. Now, I will be gettin bled. Will let you know what happen's & how much lighter my wallet is after it's done. (or may strip it & send the remain's to the crusher) Anyway, Thankyou for the info

Re: 94 Voyager brake bleeding problem

Just an update, took the van to a shop, the guy say's his scanner has abs capability. he call's, say's come get it. Get there, he say's he couldn't bleed the abs module because he's gettin' codes that say there's no power to the module & another that say's the rf pickup is bad. Charge's me 86 bucks!! Drive it home, pedal almost on the floor, but brake's will stop -kinda- Brake light on dash is on. Will go to u pick yard & get a pickup & the abs computer & try that. Find it hard to believe the electrical is messed up- the van was stopping fine except that the rf was dragging. Any idea's would be appreciated.
