1983 GTS Celica ALternator CHarging Issues *HELP*
I have a 1983 celica gt-s with the 2.2 and i replaced battery but still keeps drawing battery down, not getting charged.
1. Is it easy to replace alternator (any tips)? 2. Is the regulator seperate from the alternator or is it internally regulated? 3. Anything else I should check?

Re: 1983 GTS Celica ALternator CHarging Issues *HELP*
It is not too hard to change the alternator. Couple of bolts and a couple of wires. Yes it is internally regulated. And no body sells rebuild kits, you can buy new brushes to rebuild but not new diodes. Anyway, your car has a 22R or 22RE engine. That translates to a 2.4 liter. If you can afford it, go to LC Engineering, they sell a high out put alternator for these cars. Then you can upgrade electronics like amps and stuff....anyway hope this helps.
