rubber squeak after quickstrut install
So I've posted about this before (see inner tie rod - my scary experience). Anyway, things are all ok now, tie rods attached and locked to rack. The lcas, outer tie rod ends, sway bar links everything is new and greased fully. BUT, when you turn the steering wheel there is this rubber "rubbing" sound. When I lift the front end and turn the wheels the sound is not present, only under load. I think it's coming from the top of the quickstrut as there is a little rubber ring which sits just beneath the frame shock tower where the quickstrut attaches with the 3 nuts/bolts. There is some small amount of torquing when the wheels turn and this small amount is the only place I can see "play" in the suspension/steering system.
Has anyone had this happen before? I've tried spraying some lube in the shock tower area but it's almost impossible to get it in there easily without removing the quickstrut.
Thoughts appreciated.
